History

Rankin Road West Municipal Utility District was created by the Texas Water Commission, now the TCEQ, on October 23, 1984, and operates pursuant to Chapters 49 and 54 of the Texas Water Code, as amended. The District contains approximately 313.6 acres of land. The District is located entirely within Harris County, Texas, approximately 17 miles northwest of the central business district of the City of Houston, Texas. The District is located entirely within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston and within the Spring Independent School District. The District is bounded on the south by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 217, on the east by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 200, and on the west by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 304. The District is located approximately 2 miles west of Interstate Highway 45 on Spears Road (Rankin Road) at the intersection with T.C. Jester Boulevard.
