The RANKIN ROAD WEST MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2026 on October 20, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at 13563 Bammel N. Houston Rd., Houston, TX 77066, and by videoconference. Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the tax rate that is adopted and on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property. The change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in the taxable value of all other property determines the distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

Visit Texas.gov/PropertyTaxes to find a link to your local property tax database on which you can easily access information regarding your property taxes, including information about proposed tax rates and scheduled public hearings of each entity that taxes your property.

During the next few months, Allteam Solutions, LLC will be under contract with Rankin Road West MUD (“Rankin Road West”) to complete their 2026 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project. The project includes cleaning & televising, smoke testing, cured-in-place liner, sewer line repairs, and manhole rehabilitation of the underground sanitary sewer system in Rankin Road West. This work does not require residents to be home and at no time will field crews have to enter your home or business; however, the Contractor may need to access the sanitary sewer facilities located within an easement on/near your property.

Field crews may require access to your property if a sewer manhole or similar structure is located in an easement on or adjacent to your property. A separate notice will be provided to all residents who will be directly affected by the work approximately 48-72 hours prior to the specific repairs on or near your property. Your cooperation in providing access is critical to the sanitary sewer project process and is much appreciated. In that regard, we request that you please restrain or relocate pets and unlock gates during this period.

Heads Up, Neighbors! Updated trash collection guidelines are now in effect. Please review the updated rules for carts, heavy trash, and holiday schedules:

Trash Collection Guidelines

 Regular Trash Collection

• Use the 95-gallon Best Trash cart (black with red lid).
• Limit: One cart per household.
• Additional refuse allowed in Bags (≤ 40 lbs) or Containers (30–50 gallons)
• All items must be placed curbside by 7:00 a.m.

 Excluded Items-Best Trash will not collect:

• Construction debris, hazardous waste, liquids (e.g., paint, oil)
• Dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, tires, batteries
• Contractor-generated waste

 Spillage from hidden liquids may result in stains. Best Trash is not responsible for cleanup. Non-collected items will be tagged with an explanation.

 Heavy Trash & Yard Waste-Collected every service day:

• Yard waste: ≤ 4″ diameter, ≤ 4′ long, tied bundles ≤ 40 lbs
• Limit: Up to 5 tied bundles per collection day
• Large items (e.g., furniture, mattresses): Max 2 per collection day
• Carpet: ≤ 1 room, cut ≤ 4′ wide, tied bundles ≤ 40 lbs
• Appliances with Freon: Must be drained and include a receipt

Dear Rankin Road Residents,

The Central Harris County Regional Water Authority has announced a proposed increase to the GRP, Importation, and Surface Water Fees, effective June 1, 2025. This adjustment, which raises each fee by $0.22 per 1,000 gallons, is necessary to fund critical infrastructure projects, including the 2025 internal distribution system.

Rankin Road West MUD is beginning construction on a water plant improvements project.

This project includes a new water well, a new generator, a building expansion, and other system upgrades. These improvements are being implemented to assist the District in continuing to supply a reliable, quality water service to the community.

The Contractor, Weisinger Incorporated, is expected to mobilize and proceed with well drilling operations in June 2025. There are times when the contractors will be working around the clock. A sound wall will be erected to help mitigate noise from the drilling operations.

During the next few months, Kleen Environmental, LLC will be cleaning and televising the underground sanitary sewer system pipelines as part of the sanitary sewer system improvements project in Rankin Road West Municipal Utility District. This work does not require residents to be home and at no time will field crews have to enter your home or business.

You will receive a follow-up door hanger to serve as notice that cleaning and televising of the sanitary sewer line located on or adjacent to your property is expected to begin within 48-72 hours. Your cooperation in providing access is critical to the sanitary sewer cleaning and televising process and is much appreciated. In that regard, we request that you please restrain or relocate pets and unlock gates from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during this period.

Routes are running as scheduled with some limitations on grass clipping collection. Grass clippings need to be in clear bags or the brown paper bags so we can determine that it is not storm debris. Household trash should be placed in white bags to clearly distinguish from storm debris. Please note that cleaning your yard after the storm is considered storm debris and will need to be separated from your regular trash.

It can take a while to we get back to normal.

Best Trash extends sympathy for all of those affected by the storm. We understand that this was a catastrophic event. It is encouraged to have residents contact their Precinct or County to see when storm debris collection will happen. Please note that storm debris is not part of the normal heavy trash collection for Best Trash. Unfortunately, due to the massive scale of this catastrophe, we are not able to provide any free storm debris collection.

Please be patient as we are working hard to get through the day and there may be some delays in getting serviced on your scheduled day.

1. Residents can wait until the county can come out.
2. Residents can email a picture of their debris and we can quote a special one time collection-please include your district and address.
3. You may also call a tree trimming service for removal of the tree branches
